Gadarene Swine by Phillip Lee open soon, Bacari PDR, the Anchor Venice now open

The Gadarene Swine, chef Phillip Lee’s (Scratch Bar) second Los Angeles restaurant will open Tuesday in Studio City. The menu is strictly vegan and includes kale and maitake chips, crispy yucca, roasted mushrooms with burnt sweet potato, shaved vegetable salad and more. You can also order a chef’s tasting menu for $85. The restaurant has a full beer and wine menu that includes a housemade mead. Gadarene Swine is open Tuesday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. 11266 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, (818) 508-5500, www.thegadareneswine.com.

Bacari PDR, the newest restaurant from Robert Kronfli, Daniel Kronfli and chef Lior Hillel of Bacaro in Los Angeles, is now open in Playa del Rey. The restaurant features a 22-seat outdoor patio and serves a rotating selection of wines, craft beers and cocktails by Adam Sandroni (the Virgil, Townhouse). The menu includes Mediterranean-inspired cicchetti, cold and hot small plates with crab crostini, pan-seared polenta and more. There’s also a grilled lamb burger, oven-roasted bone marrow and baccala cakes (salted cod cakes). To celebrate the grand opening, the restaurant is hosting a three-week happy hour with $6 cicchetti plates and cocktail and sangria specials during normal business hours every day until Sept. 24. The restaurant plans on launching brunch soon. The Anchor Venice, a new seafood-centric restaurant is now open on Main Street in Venice. On the menu: a selection of fresh oysters, a lobster roll with black garlic aioli and black truffles, Mussels Basquaise and Provencal, braised octopus and more. There’s also waffle-coated Jidori chicken wings with a maple syrup reduction and chile salt, but it’s only served to 15 tables a night. And for dessert, s’mores panna cotta with graham cracker, rice crispies and smoked marshmallow. If you saddle up to the bar, you can order from a selection of beer, wine and bubbly under lights wrapped in nautical rope. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. and plans on opening for lunch and Sunday brunch in the future. 235 Main St., Venice, (310) 664-9696, www.theanchorvenice.com/.
