‘Selected Shorts’ celebrity readings and food pairings at the Getty Museum

The public radio series “Selected Shorts” will be at the J. Paul Getty Museum this weekend for live food-themed performances by celebrity readers.

Robert Sean Leonard will host the “Drama at Dinner” series and lead a cast that includes Jane Kaczmarek, Michael Imperioli, Christopher Lloyd, Joshau Malina, Christina Pickles, Catherine O’Hara and Amber Tamblyn.

The first performances will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. and include “The Year of Spaghetti” by Haruki Murakami; “The Occasional Pignoli Tart” by Ann Hood and “Serial Monogamy” by Nora Ephron, all performed by Michael Imperioli and Amber Tamblyn.

The second performances, at 7 p.m., will include “A Mad Tea-Party” from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll, a selection from Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert and “Feathers” by Raymond Carver, all performed by Robert Sean Leonard, Christopher Lloyd and Christina Pickles.

The final performances will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday and include “Letter to a Frozen Peas Manufacturer” by Lydia Davis, “Soirée in Hollywood” by Henry Miller, “Lamb to Slaughter” by Roald Dahl and “Where You’ll Find Me” by Anne Beattie, all performed by Jane Kaczmarek, Catherine O’Hara and Joshua Malina.

Each event will include small bites prepared by chef Mayet Cristobal and a specialty drink.

Admission is $35 and includes food and beverage. Tickets can be purchased at the event website.
