Yakitori-Ya at Orsa & Winston, 50% off Sushi Roku Pasadena, Moon Juice goes mobile

Orsa & Winston, Josef Centeno’s Japanese-Italian restaurant in downtown L.A., will have a special O&W Yakitori-Ya two-night event Nov. 25 and 26. The restaurant plans to grill Japanese-style skewers and serve Japanese craft beer and schochu cocktails. Inspired by the restaurant’s signature Japanese and Italian cuisine, menu items include Centeno’s chicken meatballs with shiso and basil, chicken heart with lardo, porcini and negi, guanciale-wrapped chicken liver and more.

Other dishes include Satsuki rice soboro bowl, beef carpaccio, house-made testa, mushroom salad and miso-strone soup. A truffle supplement will be available, as well as Piedmontese beef and other premium skewers. Drinks include Tokyo Black Porter, Yukidoke IPA, a Gari Mule cocktail with sake, pickled ginger juice, lime, soda and more. A six-skewer menu with grilled skewers, pickles and miso-strone soup is priced at $32, a 10-skewer menu with the pickles and soup is priced at $42 and the skewers can also be ordered a la carte. For dessert, pastry chef Isa Fabro will feature tiramisu shaved ice and bomboloni with chocolate dipping sauce ($8 each). The Pasadena Sushi Roku is celebrating 14 years on Miller Alley with a special anniversary menu and 50% off lunch and dinner Nov. 19 and 20. The Ultimate Top 14 Throwback menu includes baked cod in sweet miso, yellowtail and diced chile on crispy rice, salmon tempura roll with asparagus and avocado and yuzu ponzu, pan-fried spicy jumbo shrimp, and more. Moon Juice is taking its juices, moon milks, tonics and cosmic snacks on the road. The company has launched a Moon Rovers car that will travel around Los Angeles, Malibu and Pasadena, delivering products.
