Dine L.A. restaurant week, the two-week Los Angeles restaurant event, returns Jan. 19. More than 300 restaurants will participate in the biannual event, and showcase exclusive dishes and special prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus.

Those in the know use it as a chance to try that expensive new restaurant on their culinary bucket list without breaking the bank. Lunch menus can be $15, $20 or $25 and for dinner, menus are priced at $30, $40 or $50 per person.

And next year, there are more than 45 new restaurants participating, including Alimento, Bacari PDR and Bacaro L.A., Butchers & Barbers, Michael Cimarusti’s seafood spot Connie & Ted’s and more.

Some of the restaurants featuring special Dine L.A. dishes include Fig & Olive, with a grilled Maine lobster with artichoke tapenade, puff pastry and smoke pimento olive oil; smoked pork belly and duck rilletes and cranberry mostarda crostini at Littlefork; okonomiyaki with octopus, cabbage, sweet mayo, egg and bonito at Abigaile; crispy-skin duck breast, slow-cooked black kale, curry butternut squash purée and roasted onion duck jus at Butchers & Barbers; and winter empanadas with roasted root vegetables, kale, tomato habanero jam, cilantro, tamarind chutney and cumin lentils at Gracias Madre. The dishes are only available between Jan. 19 and Feb. 1.

Some restaurants are also offering a menu that is 15% off the existing menu price.
