AOC

Celebrating the New Year in Las Vegas fashion, AOC will have a buffet and an Elvis look-alike. The first seating offers a four-course prix-fixe menu that includes wood-oven-baked cannelloni and petrale sole with caramelized endive. $75, reservations at 6 to 6:30 p.m. The second seating includes a buffet with shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs and charcuterie, along with the four-course menu. $100 (dancing and a Champagne toast are on the house), reservations at 9 to 9:30 p.m.

The Asian cafe is offering a four-course prix-fixe menu, along with regular a la carte service. Course offerings include miso-braised short rib with kabocha squash, duck with cranberry chutney and pecan red rice, and regular menu choices of both large and small plates. $45 for the four-course meal. 5:30 to 10 p.m.

Border Grill

The Santa Monica and downtown locations will both have a four-course prix-fixe menu to celebrate the New Year. Enjoy the black Mission fig quesadilla, making room for a seafood paella or Oaxacan strip steak with mole Colorado. $45, with $5 wine pairings. The downtown location has a free shuttle to several entertainment venues.

Come in for the four-course prix-fixe and stay for music by Chuck E. Weiss. The menu begins with fennel soup, moving on to choices of goat cheese ravioli or grilled sea scallops with a lobster butter béarnaise. $65. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., and live music will start at 9:30 p.m.

Church & State

A five- or six-course prix-fixe menu includes party favors and a Champagne toast at midnight. Start with malpeque oysters and finger limes, sautéed bay scallops with sunchokes and foie gras, and rib-eye with hen of the wood mushrooms and truffle jus. Dessert? Croquembouche. There are two seatings: the five-course prix-fixe from 6 to 8 p.m. for $65, and the six-course at 8:30 to 11 p.m. for $90.

Three New Year’s Eve seatings for a three-course menu: Main course choices include diver sea scallop with celery root and black truffle or a poached buffalo tenderloin with citrus and hazelnuts. The first and second seating cost $85 and start at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., respectively. The third seating costs $105 and includes a Champagne toast, starting at 9:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Chaya rings in the new year with themed menus: French La Fete at Chaya Venice, the roaring ‘20s at Chaya Beverly Hills, and Shanghai nights at Chaya downtown. Entertainment for the evening reflects the theme. At Chaya Venice, a three-course prix-fixe menu for $75 for the first seating, 5 to 7 p.m. and four-course menu and Champagne toast, starting at 9 to 9:30 p.m., for $135. Chaya Brasserie in Beverly Hills is serving a four-course menu for $75 at its first seating, 6 to 7 p.m. and five courses with Champagne toast at the second seating, 9 to 9:30 p.m., $135. Chaya downtown presents a four-course menu from 5 to 10 p.m. for $75, with lion dancers.

Drago Centro

New Year’s Eve at Drago Centro brings five courses with an optional wine pairing: Scallop carpaccio paves the way for Dover sole, followed by duck agnolotti with foie gras foam and more. $70, plus $45 for the wine pairing. Dinner is available Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, starting at 5 p.m.

First and Hope

Alain Giraud, former chef of Anisette, is making a special appearance, giving diners a taste of things to come at his planned restaurant Maison Giraud. Three prix-fixe menus emphasize French cuisine with egg and caviar, beef tenderloin with fingerling potatoes and black truffles sauce, and a turbot filet with leeks and Champagne sauce. The first seating takes place at 4:30 to 5 p.m. for $85 and consists of three courses, the second at 7:30 to 8 p.m. for $120 and four courses, and the last seating is at 10:15 p.m. for $95 and three courses. Festivities include party favors, a best cocktail-dress contest and a free Champagne toast.

Two dinner options usher in the New Year at Joe’s: a three-course meal for $65 until 9 p.m. or a tasting menu with specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a Champagne toast for $110 from 9 p.m. until midnight. Dishes include a tortellini of rabbit with offal gelée, lobster and leek shepherd’s pie and a honey date fritter with butterscotch sauce and a chocolate pot de creme.

La Cachette Bistro

Celebrate New Year’s with a tapas-style evening at La Cachette, such as roast beef tartine with horseradish, shrimp-ginger ravioli and “pecan pie” salad with endive and blue cheese, from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. Appetizers will be $4 to $13 and main courses $13 to $24. Tapas come with pitchers of mojitos, sangria or margaritas for $24. Dinner service stops at midnight, but dessert and drinks go until 2 a.m.

Two seatings, starting at 6 to 7:30 p.m. and at 7:45 p.m. Dinner at the seating costs $95 and includes a glass of Cremant de Bourgogne. The second seating costs $135 and comes with a glass of Champagne. Festivities go on all night, starting with the magic and a craps table and finishing with a DJ-saxophonist combo.

Mélisse has two New Year’s Eve dinner seatings. The first seating, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., features a three-course menu with options such as lemon-crusted Dover sole and prime rib, for $140. There’s a six-course menu for the second seating, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., with choices such as seared foie gras with glazed pineapple and pistachio crumble, for $250. The second seating includes music and dancing.

The menu costs $55, and wine pairings come at an additional $25. A la carte service is available as well.

Stefan’s at L.A. Farm

The new Marina del Rey restaurant has prepared a tasting menu to showcase many of its modern preparations. Dishes such as chicken-fried watermelon and pork belly with root beer jello are interspersed with more traditional fare of grilled polenta and asparagus or duck with dried cherries and a red wine reduction. Taking reservations between 5 and 9:30 p.m. $75 and $125 with wine pairings.
