The Detroit Pistons have selectedGeorgetown power forward Greg Monroe with the No. 7 pick in the NBAdraft.
Detroit declined to trade up or down Thursday night, choosingMonroe to bolster its frontcourt.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Monroe averaged 16 points and nearly 10rebounds last as a sophomore for the Hoyas.
Detroit finished last season 27-55 - its worst record since 1994- and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
