Despite pulling out of the race for the White House, Herman Cain is not staying low key.

Thursday, Cain put his support behind Republican Pete Hoekstra as the U.S. Senator hopeful launched his “Patriots for Pete Tour”. Cain and Hoekstra kicked off the tour that will take them throughout Michigan at the Kent County GOP Headquarters Thursday.

Hoekstra, co-founded the Tea Party Caucus while in Congress, according to a news release.

Cain spoke to the public, and touched on the importance of changing America because of his four grandchildren, one of which was born on Jan. 1, 2012.

Cain and Hoekstra claim to share the same stances on issues such as regulatory reform and energy.

The campaign manager for one of Hoekstra’s opponents, Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan), said in a news release,  “Hoekstra’s tax plan may be brutal on the middle class and out of touch with Michigan with Michigan families; but one thing is clear: his friends in Washington are willing to do whatever it takes to make him Michigan’s next Senator.”

Michigan voters head to the polls Tues. Feb. 28.
