The first ever Electric Forest Music Festival began Thursday in Rothbury.

The 4-day festival is being held at the same venue the old Rothbury Music Festival  used, the Double J Resort. Madison House, the same production company behind Rothbury is also putting on Electric Forest.

Much of the venue is the same as it was before they pulled the plug on Rothbury in ’09 including Sherwood Forest, a tunnel of forest that leads concert goers from one stage to the next.

The forest is filled with bars, musicians, and hundreds of hammocks tied up to trees.

Dozens of bands including The String Cheese Incident, Bassnectar, and REO Speedwagon will perform on 3 stages.

Tickets range from $20 to $500 for 4-day VIP passes and accommodations. Many of the festival goers are camping on grounds.

Festival Promoters tell FOX 17 they expect between 13,000 and 15,000 people to attend this weekend.

Tickets are still available at the venue in Rothbury.
