More than twenty thousand people showed up at Rosa Parks Circle to ring in the new year. Everyone's huddling together in the below freezing temperatures to watch the ball drop and hear three national music acts.

Singer Priscilla Renea, Uncle Kracker and the group Boys like Girls performed to a packed audience outdoors.

The whole event is free and thrown by Citadel Broadcasting.

"It's fantastic, because a lot of us are struggling and it's something we can do with our families for free," said Nicole Raphael of Grand Rapids.

Some people camped out for hours before, bringing mats, sleeping bags and even coolers.

At midnight, the six foot ball will drop downtown, with 450 crystal bulbs.

Fox 17 will be there, and we'll have the video for you on Fox 17 morning news beginning at 5 a.m.
