Jiri Hudler Signs With the Calgary Flames

Jiri Hudler is no longer a Detroit Red Wings. He is a Calgary Flame.

Hudler signed a 4-year contract worth $16 million dollars with the Calgary Flames on the second day of free agency. Hudler is coming off of career high 25 goals last season that ended with 50 points, his second best behind 57 points in the 2008-2009 season.  

Hudler was drafted by the Wings in 2002 and spent three seasons playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins. He would go on to play seven seasons with the Red Wings over two stints.  He left the Wings for one season to play in the KHL for the 2009-2010 season.

Hudler won one Stanley Cup with the Red Wings in 2008
