Race Day 2009
Friday July 24th from 6pm to 8pm
Holland Market Place at 8th/Pine
Officer Rob Brewer @ 616-355-1707
We are going to have a static display of various race cars withtheir drivers and our goal is to educate the public on safety belt use.The idea is that people, especially kids, like race cars and once theysee all the safety equipment associated with these race cars they willalso see that using their safety belts is smart. The kids will have anopportunity to see the cars up close and even sit in some of them. Therewill be stock cars, drag cars, and other racing vehicles that will beparticipating as well as area Police, Fire, and EMS units. Along withseveral local racers there will be the "Rescue 1 Fire Safety for Kids"race car and the Allegan County Sheriffs Department "Beat the Heat" racecar. Our hope is to not only convince the "non-restraint" users tobuckle up but to also commend the people that are using their safetyrestraints. There will be some safety related handout material alsoavailable. The OHSP "Seatbelt Convincer" will also be at the event forpeople to experience.
