You've probably heard of Taylor Lautner, one of the stars of the blockbuster 'Twilight' series who grew up here in West Michigan.

Now there's another young Taylor on the radar on the way to making a splash in hollywood, at the age of just 8 years old.

Tuesday night the movie "What If" is set to premier in Grand Rapids, featuring some familiar names like Kevin Sorbo and John Ratzenberger. But, another face you'll see on the red carpet comes not from Hollywood but Grandville, MI.

Taylor Groothuis was discovered by her choreographer last year, and already she's acted on several television shows and movies including 'Flipped' -- a Rob Reiner film and 'Vanishing on 7th Street.'

"The people from Hollywood called and asked, 'Do you want to work in hollywood?' And so we gave it a shot and here we are," she said.

Taylor's parents say they were hesitant at first, but say Michigan's strong film industry helped in their decision.

"We didn't have to sell our house, and bet the farm and move out to hollywood and be an all or nothing type of thing. Some of the films were in Detroit, in Ann Arbor, in Traverse City and those are all in easy driving distance," said Bryan Groothuis, Taylor's dad.

Now they keep their little girl grounded by carefully screening her roles and home schooling her. Meanwhile, Taylor is hoping for her next big break, either a continuing role on a sitcom or a larger part in a movie.
