At 9 p.m. Friday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a water rescue at the Radisson Plaza Hotel At Kalamazoo Center at 100 W. Michigan Ave. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found 26-year-old Jacob Parish, of Kalamazoo, unresponsive in the swimming pool area with several bystanders providing CPR.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers and Life EMS attempted advanced lifesaving measures for 45 minutes until the man was pronounced dead.
