Roger Chapman went wire-to-wire at the 73rd Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor to win his first career Champions Tour major.
Chapman led the tournament after shooting a 68 (-3) on the first day and never looked back, sharing the lead only once with John Cook after the second round.
Chapman shot a 1-over 72 on Sunday at Harbor Shores, but had built such a big lead that it didn't matter. Chapman topped his nearest competitor, Cook, by two strokes even with a bogey on the final hole of the tournament.
Chapman finished the tournament with a final score of 271 (-13) and became the first native of England to win the Senior PGA Championship and raise the Alfred S. Bourne trophy.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
