The water wasn't drinkable and there was very little food to eat. I remember how frightened we all were because we didn't know when we were going to be rescued or what was happening to our families. Finally, after three days, we were all escorted out of the camp by the National Guard. We could see the devastation everywhere as we drove along the Farmington River.
I can remember that year just like it was yesterday
