I remember he told about someone - perhaps the Red Cross - coming along and giving tetanus shots to Dad and his fellow CL&P workers literally while they worked. And I recall how somber the adults were in discussing the damage that happened around the state, especially in the valley.
Even small children can recall some isolated memories such as those.
