Bryce Pinkham (Broadway's "Ghost," off-Broadway's "The Orphans' Home Cycle"), opera singer Sari Gruber and Ethan Freeman will join Christopher Durang and Bobby Lopez to al all-Yale alum concert production of "Kiss Me Kate" for two performances, Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 and 8 p.m. at the University Theatre in New Haven.
The event kicks off a year of Yale celebrating the 100th anniversary of composer Cole Porter's graduation from the university.
Also featured are Lauren Worsham, Bill Kux, Zina Ellis, Johnson Flucker , Terrence Chin-Loy, Geoffrey Owens and Asa Somers.
The concert concept will be the 1948 musical presented as a live radio show, circa 1948.
The concert, featuring an orchestra of 42, features a newly restored critical edition of the score, with original orchestrations which haven’tbeen heard since the Tony Award-winning show first ran on Broadway.
Marc Vietor directs the shw; Ambr Edwards produces; and David Charles Abell is music director.
