Go Nose-To-Nose With Sea Lions At Mystic Aquarium
No need to slip on a wet suit to visit underwater wildlife, simply spend a day at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration. With more than 70 exhibits, children and adults get to explore the historical and scientific significance of more than 425 species, including beluga whales, sea lions, penguins and sharks.
The fun doesn't stop at just strolling through exhibits either. Many times throughout the day, visitors are welcomed to an action filled sea lion show or watch dolphins feast on their lunch during feeding time shows.
Though the bulk of Mystic Aquarium's attraction lies in the visitors own exploration of ocean animals, the aquarium's Institute for Explorations continues to break ground in deep-sea archeological research, which features maps and models from found Dr. Robert Ballard's exploration of the RMS Titanic and the Black Sea.
If somehow the aquarium can't fill up the entire day, take a short drive to downtown Mystic for a variety of restaurants and shops on the scenic Mystic River.
