Edwin Kennison Jr. was such a huge New York Yankees fan that he had two Yankee tattoos: the iconic "NY" on one arm and the team's World Series wins on his leg.

"He loved sports in general," his wife of 17 years, Katherine Kennison, said.

Kennison, 49, was among those killed Tuesday at Hartford Distributors in Manchester. A truck driver for the company, Kennison had one 13-year-old daughter, Katherine Kennison said.

Edwin Kennison Jr., who recently had been living in East Hartford, grew up in Manchester, where he played soccer and basketball. He also loved to play softball and he collected sports-related items, especially from the New York Yankees and University of Connecticut sports teams, Katherine Kennison said.

His daughter, she said, "was the love of his life."
