Ellen Dorrit Hoffleit (March 12, 1907 - April 9, 2007)

Hoffleit was an American senior research astronomer at Yale University, according to the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame. During her tenure at Yale, Hoffleit's major work was, The Bright Star Catalogue. She also produced hundreds of scholarly papers and provided "News Notes" on astronomical events and trends for Sky and Telescope magazine. Even though Hoffleit officially retired in the 1970s, she continued her work until her death in 2007.
