Evelyn Beatrice Longman Batchelder (November 21, 1874 - March 10, 1954)

Batchelder was a longtime resident of Windsor, according to the <a href="http://articles.courant.com/2010-08-20/features/hc-statue-tour-bushnell-0821-20100820_1_sir-edmund-andros-corning-fountain-joseph-wadsworth">Hartford Courant</a>.  She sculpted many well-known monuments around the U.S., including Bushnell Park's Spirit of Victory in Hartford.  Batchelder was also the first woman to be allowed full membership in the National Academy of Design.
