Fawn Rescued From Frozen Glastonbury Lake Dies
A year-old doe was rescued from the ice of the Buckingham Reservoir in Glastonbury Friday morning, but despite efforts of the Glastonbury firefighters who saved the doe from the ice, and Environmental Conservation Officer Edward Pyznar, who tried to revive her, the doe died at 11:45 a.m. Pyznar attempted to warm the deer up with blankets and heat packets, something he said he had never done before, but it did not work. Pyznar could not figure out how long the doe had been on the ice but he said it was likely that she died of hypothermia.
