In one of the more ridiculous copyright-infringement cases, former Creedence Clearwater front man John Fogerty was accused of plagiarizing himself. His former record company charged that his solo hit "Old Man Down the Road" sounded too much like the Creedence hit "Run Through the Jungle" (both written by Fogerty). To prove that he had a signature style of songwriting, Fogerty actually brought his guitar to the witness stand. He won.
