There's a new chorus group in town and it's the Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus which will mark their debut with "Believe," a holiday concert on Friday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Society of Hartford, 50 Bloomfield Ave.
J.D. Bauer is artistic director of the newly formed group of 25 singing members.
The concert will feature holiday music "from traditional melodies (“The Twelve Days of Christmas”) to invigorating, joyous selections (John Leavitt’s “Festival Santus”) to lighthearted fare (“It’s a Hanukkah Song in a Major Key”)."
Bauer, a math coach and science teacher, has also toured the country as a dancer and performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and New York City’s City Center. He has also performed as a singer with The Waterbury Symphony, the Naugatuck Valley Community College Chorus, Coachlight Singers, and the Connecticut Gay Men’s Chorus.
Tickets are $23 and can be purchased at www.hartfordstage.org or by calling the Hartford Stage Box Office at 860-527-5151. Tickets will also be on sale at the door the evening of the performance at the Unitarian Society.
