Georgia Stathoulas, who created the artwork on this week's cover, was born and raised in Kalamata, Greece, and moved with her husband and two daughters to Wethersfield in 1992. "Because a big part of my life revolved around raising our daughters, I didn't discover my passion for painting until just a few years ago," she says. "I am a self-taught painter, and I paint mostly with oils. Although much of my inspiration for painting comes from the spectacular land and seascapes in my homeland, Greece, it is the beautiful innocence of children that I love to capture on my canvas." Her cover piece is an oil on canvas titled "My Gypsy Twins." She is a member of the West Hartford Art League.
