Pat Morris of Stafford, a wildlife artist who was born and raised in Manchester, created the artwork on this week's cover. The title is "Autumn" — a gentle horse that she knew many years ago in Eastford. "I began my art career in the 1970s, focusing mainly on pet portraiture. In the 1980s, I began painting wildlife as well, in particular the wolves that I had come to know in my association with a wolf ambassador program in Connecticut. My work has been exhibited in the last 25 years in art shows throughout Connecticut and Pennsylvania." She works primarily in pastel and occasionally in pencil, colored pencil or acrylic paint.
