Jeff Kready Is Crumpet in Hartford's TheaterWorks

Jeff Kready, who played the lovably square Mr. Snow in Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Carousel" at the Goodspeed Opera House, will play Crumpet, the cynical Macy's Elf in "The Santaland Diaries," the statge adaptation of David Sedaris' comic holiday essays.

The show will be presented at Hartford's TheaterWorks as an off-subscription presentation Dec. 4 to 23.

Rob Ruggiero, who staged "Carousel" at Goodspeed, directs the production. Tickets are $40; $30 for subscribers.

The theater had presenetd the show several times before during the Christmas holidays featuring Andrew Benator.

Kready's credits include Broadway's "Billy Elliot, "Sunday ion the Park with George" revival, "Les Miserables" revival. He also toured in "Billy Ellliot." TV credits include  “Boardwalk Empire”
