The show centers on the life and career of Hayes, the first world-renown African-American classical vocalist and follows his life from the plantations of Georgia to performing before royalty.
Also cast are Kecia Lewis-Evans (Broadway’s “Leap of Faith,” “
Annastasia Victory (Broadway's "Nice Work If You Can Get It" and "Billy Elliott") will serve as music director. The production also features set design by David P. Gordon; costume design by Fabio Toblini; lighting design by York Kennedy; and sound design by Jane Shaw.
The show is produced in association with City Theatre in Pittsburgh.
