Stacey McCann, principal of the Dwight campus of the Asian Studies Academy in Hartford kisses Daisy the pot-bellied pig Tuesday after students met a reading challenge given to them at the beginning of the school year. She, and dean of students Marcie Morrocco challenged school¿s 223 students to read for at least 40 additional minutes a day as part of their ¿Pig Out on Reading¿ initiative. If the students kept their end of the bargain, one school official voted by the students would kiss Daisy. All 223 students met the challenge and, in a tie vote, elected to have both the principal and the dean of students kiss Daisy, who belongs to Paul Minor of Bristol and who lives on the Minor farm there. The children got to meet and pet Daisy as well as Lily, the Minor family dog.
