Lydia Huntley Sigourney (September 1, 1791 - June 10, 1865)

Sigourney was a popular poet during the early and mid-19th century. Born in Norwich, she was commonly known as the "Sweet Singer of Hartford." She married Charles Sigourney in 1819, and after her marriage she began to write poetry anonymously.
