Mamma, mia! Goodspeed Musicals got its Mame.
Louise Pitre, best known as the Tony Award-nominated lead in the Broadway smash "Mamma Mia," will play the title role in the revival of "Mame," slated to play the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam April 20 to July 1.
The Goodspeed production will be directed by Ray Roderick (Goodspeed’s "Hello! My Baby," "My One and Only," Singin' in the Rain" and "42nd Street") and choreographed by Vince Pesce (associate choreographer of Broadway’s "Anything Goes," "The Pajama Game," "Wonderful Town" and "Little Shop of Horrors.")
In addition to headlining the Toronto, Broadway, and US touring company casts of "Mamma Mia," Pitre's credits include: Fantine in "Les Miserables"(Toronto, Montreal, and Paris) and the title character in"Edith Piaf."
Pitre’s numerous honors include a Theatre World Award, National Broadway Touring Award, Drama Desk nomination, Critics' Circle nomination, San Francisco Critics' Circle Award.
