Mark Brokaw To Direct Westport's "Oblivion" Premiere

Drama Desk, Obie, and Lucile Lortel award-winning director Mark Brokaw will stage the world premiere of Carly Mensch's "Oblivion" in the Westport Country Playhouse 2013 season, the second recent world premiere at the theater following this seaon's "Harbor."

Mensch is a co-producer on Showtime's "Weeds."

Brokaw's directing credits include Broadway's “The Lyons” (2012), “After Miss Julie” (2009), “Cry-Baby” (2007), “The Constant Wife” (2005), “Reckless” (2004), and the upcoming “Cinderella.” 

As previously announced, the 2013 season will begin with the first major revival in decades of playwright A.R. Gurney’s “The Dining Room,” staged by the theater's artistic director Mark Lamos, April 30 to May 18, followed June 11 to 29 with a rare American classic comedy, “The Show-Off” by George Kelly.

Joe Orton's black comedy "Loot,” will run July 16 to Aug, 3, directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director. The fourth production will be  “Oblivion” running Aug. 20 to Sept. 7. Rounding out the season, October 8 to 26, 2013, is John Murray and Allen Boretz’s “Room Service.” staged by Mark Lamos.
