Joe Namath The one and only Broadway Joe played for the New York Jets from 1965-1976. In what is still regarded as the biggest upset in Super Bowl history, he led the Jets past the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III in 1969. Plagued by severe knee problems throughout his NFL career, Namath played his final pro season -- 1977 -- with the Los Angeles Rams. The Jets waived him when the teams could not work out a trade.
