( Pat Moore / May 10, 2012 ) Pat Moore of Newington writes: "Penny and I were visiting my brother and his family in the town of Granau near Garmisch in the Bavarian Alps. We took a 30-mile mountain bike ride on a drizzly day and hoped to ride the cable car to the summit of the Zugspitz, but we discovered it wasn't running. We stopped for lunch at an outdoor cafe in the town of Lermoos, Austria, and the sun came out. Penny captured this remarkable shot of irises framed by a peak just south of the Zugspitz." |
