( Raymond Uzanas / January 4, 2013 ) Raymond Uzanas of Stonington writes: "On a recent trip to Argentina's remote Patagonia region, I shot this image of three female elephant seals seemingly in harmony as they bellow their guttural sounds on the shores of Punta Delgada. Part of the Valdez Peninsula, this extensive coastline is home to the largest colonies of elephant seals gathered on a continental land mass, in the world. The females will give birth in several months while they await the arrival of the bull seals from their ocean feeding grounds." |
