Lyle McCombs [pictured] and the offense gained most of its 425 yards in the second half against Western Michigan. Quarterback Chandler Whitmer was 19-of-31 for 207 yards and two touchdowns after halftime. If the Huskies¿ offense can start games the way it finished against the Broncos, there should be no more complaints about production. No one would have guessed UConn would outgain Western Michigan (425-330). The point is, UConn showed it has a capable passing attack, and that can open up a running game. The Huskies had to play from behind to force their urgent play; they need to start that way.
