Ravens' Founding Year: 1996

The Baltimore Ravens were established in 1996 when then-owner of the Cleveland Browns, Arthur Bertram "Art" Modell, relocated the franchise to Baltimore, according to the <a href="http://articles.latimes.com/1996-02-14/sports/sp-35749_1_seattle-seahawks">Los Angeles Times</a>.  The franchise was renamed and legally treated as a new entity (or expansion team) upon moving to Baltimore.
