Scam of the Year: Phony Newtown Charities

After the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, social media pages were created in memory of the victims. Some of these social media pages were scams, asking for donations for the families. The FBI already arrested one <a href="http://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/newtown-sandy-hook-school-shooting/hc-newtown-sandy-hook-scam-1228-20121227,0,7618772.story">woman</a> for pretending to be a family member of one of children killed.
