"Something's Afoot" To Return to Goodspeed Opera House

"Something's Afoot," a big hit for the Goodspeed Opera House when it produced the British  musical whodunit in 1973, will return to the East Haddam theater as the third show of its 2012 season.

The musical, which transferred from Goodspeed to Broadway in 1976, will begin previews Oct. 5 and open on oct, 24, The run continues through Dec. 9.

No director or cast has yet been announced.

The Goodspeed season will open with Jerry Herman's  "Mame," directed by Ray Roderick, April with previews beginning April , opening May 9. The run continues through July 1.

The summer show will be Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Carousel," staged by Rob Ruggiero, with previews beginning  July 13 and opening Aug. 1. Then run continues through Sept. 23.
