'Richard II' At Yale Rep

Shakespeare's historical play "Richard II" opens at the Yale Repertory Theatre Friday and runs through Oct. 13. Jeffrey Carlson plays the title role.

King Richard II of England's throne is threatened by a conniving court and Henry Bolingbrook, a banished man who wants to usurp the crown. .

Evan Yionoulis, the resident director of the Yale Repertory Theatre, stages the classic.

The show opens on Friday at 8 p.m. The theater is at 1120 Chapel St. in New Haven.

Tickets are $40, $35 for subscribers, $30 for seniors and $20 for students.
