( Mark Mirko | mmirko@courant.com / May 4, 2012 ) Katie Surma graduated with a BA in chemistry in 2010. Knowing a lot of chemistry majors who hadn't found work, she decided to go to graduate school and chose forensics science over a PhD in chemistry. Surma graduates this spring from University of New Haven, with a master's degree in forensics science, and is looking for employment. The room in which she is standing is used by the university to help students analyze fire patterns and learn how to investigate arson. |
