10/1/12 During the trial of Robert Koistinen, a photo of the car driven by his son, Michael Koistinen, was presented into evidence. Michael Koistinen, who was driving recklessly and had been drinking, struck and killed 15-year-old Henry Dang. Michael, an off-duty Windsor Locks police officer at the time, struck Dang as he rode his bicycle home. The impact was so hard that the hood was knocked off and the windshield was cracked. Michael Koistinen was sentenced to 64 months in prison and five years of probation. He pleaded no contest in June 2012 to second-degree manslaughter and tampering with evidence.
