Lots of local venues in the next few weeks will be offering up the traditional lineup of Christmas movies. But the big news for Hartford area film fans is: "Baraka" is back. The documentary about global environmentalism and varied cultures had become an expected yearly offering at Cinestudio, as an alternative Christmas celebration. But last year the Trinity College cinema did not show the film. "Baraka" will be shown Dec. 15 to 18 at the cinema, 300 Summit St. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. daily, with a 2:30 matinee on Dec. 18. Admission is $8, $7 with student I.D. Another highlight is a goofy one: The Kino Kaf'e film series at La Paloma Sabanera (pictured), the coffeehouse at Capitol Avenue and Babcock Street in Hartford, will show "The Star Wars Holiday Special" on Dec. 14. The 1978 TV show, with all the major cast members of "Star Wars," tells the story of Lifeday, a holiday on Chewbacca's home planet. It will be shown at 7 p.m. Admission is $3.
