'F as in Fat' as in America
The number of obese Americans just keeps rising, with obesity rates now topping 30% in 12 states. Four years ago, only one state could make that claim. The numbers came from the annual obesity report from the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Mississippi topped the scales with an adult obesity rate of 34.4%; Colorado's obesity rate was the lowest. A relatively small percentage of its residents, 19.8%, could be labeled obese.
