Salmonella illnesses hold steady for 15 years, CDC says

While rates for several other foodborne diseases, including E.coli, have dropped dramatically, the rate of <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HEDAI0000063" title="Salmonella Infection" href="/topic/health/diseases-illnesses/salmonella-infection-HEDAI0000063.topic">salmonella</a> infections has held steady for the past 15 years, according to the Centers for Disease Control report released on June 7. Salmonella is responsible for approximately $365 million in U.S. medical costs and sickens about one million Americans every year.
