Gift pick No. 26: Jay Dunton’s loopy plant stand

Share

We put out a call for L.A.-made holiday gifts, and Jay Dunton threw us a nice curve: minimalist metal plant stands he’s producing in conjunction with Mohawk General Store in Silver Lake and Pasadena.

Dunton takes a linear line of metal bar and loops it to great effect -- a design that’s as pleasing as anything you might put inside the pots. Drop in terra cotta and the plant stand has a raw, more industrial effect. Add pots glazed in a glossy white, and the design has a different vibe.

The just-released plant stand, $165, will be sold through Dunton’s Highland Park store, Meridian, as well as through Mohawk General Store.
