Sojo was brought in as a familiar utilityman for the Yankees (he played for New York from 1996 to 1999) and ended up helping the Yankees win the 2000 World Series against the New York Mets. Sojo hit a two-run single in the top of the ninth in the decisive Game 5, which proved to be the game-winning hit as the Yankees won their 26th championship.
