-Hartford Eric Mangini rises to NFL head coach

His mentor, Bill Belichick, was not too pleased, but after spending several years as the defensive coordinator of the Patriots, Connecticut’s own Eric Mangini made the leap to head coach, landing the Jets’ job in 2006. He was fired after the 2008 season, but landed on his feet for 2009 as head coach of the Cleveland Browns. JIM MCISAAC / GETTY IMAGES
