( SHANA SURECK / HARTFORD COURANT / August 1, 2007 ) Twelve-year-old Khalil Harris-Abrams looks up in admiration at Red Sox legend Jim Rice after the two had talked on Roberto Clemente field in Colt Park in Hartford, where a Youth Baseball Clinic was held today. Rice had been joking with Harris-Abrams and then showed him his cellphone which wowed the kids because of the television in it. Other children in the front are, from left, Allyson Swaby, 10; Andre Evans, 11; and Jada Bygrave, 10. Rice is an eight-time All-Star and 1978 American League MVP. The kids are from the Trinity College branch of the Hartford Boys and Girls Club. |
