New Haven Open tennis tournament director Anne Worcester (right) explains how funds are raised to fight breast cancer by running on a Cybex treadmill set up at the event while professional golfer, and boyfriend of No. 1 seed Caroline Wozniacki, Rory McIlroy tries it out. The weeklong event, called The Pink Ribbon Run, will offer players, fans, sponsors and media the opportunity to walk or run on the special pink treadmill to raise funds for breast cancer. For every mile logged, donations will be made to Susan G. Komen Connecticut Affilliate and the Breast Center at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven. Worcester was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
